Welcome to GP Education in Poole. We provide a programme of regular GP educational events for GPs in the Wessex area. Topics covered are based on the learning needs of local GPs identified through appraisal and feedback received. We hold monthly half day meetings on a Wednesday afternoon, biannual Basic Life Support Courses and an annual three day refresher course which is held in May. 

All events are run from the Postgraduate Centre in Poole Hospital with the support of The Wessex GP Educational Trust (WGPET). Attendance at our educational events to WGPET members is free of charge and non members will be charged a nominal fee per hour for attendance.

Chris Elfes is the Acting GP Tutor in Poole until July 2012. He is responsible for organising and facilitating educational events in support of Continuing Professional Development for local GPs. He qualified as a GP in 1996 and worked as a Partner in Swanage for 15 years before recently embarking on a Portfolio Career, combining local clinical work with  Appraisal, Educational and Medical Assessment roles.
