Since 2009 we have successfully run monthly educational meetings for newly qualified GPs in Dorset. Our aim has been to support newly qualified GPs with the transition from GP Trainee to independent GP; to encourage the concept of lifelong learning (and hopefully the formation of 'young GP' groups), to ensure GPs are preparing for Appraisal and Revalidation and to provide an opportunity to share experiences and issues of concern. 

2011 NQGP educational meetings will be held on the second wednesday of the month at The Harbour Hospital in Poole. The first meeting will be on Wednesday 10th August. The informal evenings will start at 1900 with a meal. This will be followed at 1930 by a case based discussion on a clinical topic facilitated by a local consultant and an opportunity to address areas of relevance to appraisal eg Significant Event Analysis. The evening should finish at 2130.
