The ST1/2 Programme Directors (ST1/2 PDs) run the Hospital-based element of the GP training scheme. They negotiate the rotations with the hospitals trusts and  also run the monthly day Release Course (DRC) for GPST1s and GPST2s.

The Programme Directors strongly encourage the trainees to let them know about their jobs - the good and the bad - and to approach them with any problems relating to specific posts or to their career and training. Pastoral care is a key part of their role.
