GP Retainer Learning Set
The GP Retainer Learning Set was established in 2009 as a peer support group specifically for GP Retainers. Evening meetings are held on a monthly basis and members of the group share responsibility for coordinating the meeting arrangements and light refreshments.
The main purposes of the group are to provide a welcoming and informal environment for case discussion, problem sharing and discussion of relevant educational topics. Sessions can also be used for significant event discussions to meet revalidation requirements.
The group does not use pharmaceutical sponsorship and aims to keep the meetings focused on peer support and education, rather than speaker-led education (which is available through a number of other local groups).
New GP Retainers should automatically join the e-mail list to receive invitations to the group meetings. If this does not happen, please contact the GP office at
gpcentre@bournemouth.ac.uk
.
