The ePortfolio is a compulsory component of WPBA and will be carefully looked at by your Educational Supervisor and the ARCP. Regular, high quality reflective entries which populate the competencies and curriculum will be needed to demonstrate you are actively recording and reviewing your educational needs.

Engagement with the process should be efficiently built into your working week throughout your three year training programme and the ARCP view last minute entries prior to a six month review with suspicion.

Make sure you have an early discussion with each successive Educational Supervisor so that you can confidently agree on the quality, variety and quantity of entries you are recording.

The extensive and up to date
RCGP eportfolio site has a wealth of resources to assist both trainer and trainee, including user guides and advice on writing effective log entries. It's a must read for trainee GPs.

Other useful sites include the
Wessex Deanery documents - from this link scroll down for guides to reflective writing, an excellent video on the eportfolio and other resources.

You can also view our ePortfolio Top Tips page in the Trainers>Educational Supervisors section.

Any problems with the ePortfolio which are not addressed on these sites should be directed to your Educational Supervisor, Programme Director or the Wessex ePortfolio AD, Dr Jonathan Foulkes
