Chris Playfair has been a trainer since 1993 and is still full of enthusiasm to teach and learn from GPs in training. He works with Annie Linley-Adams and between them have the most enjoyable and rewarding task of caring for the 3,200 people who live in the village of Lytchett Matravers. We do this from a 350 year old converted cob cottage which has views over Poole Harbour and 2 boats in the garage. We believe that you will learn best if you enjoy your job and of our trainees have enjoyed their time with us.

We are in the unique position of being able to offer old-fashioned personal care to a small community whilst also being part of The Adam Practice; the largest practice in Dorset, with 4 sites and 30,500 patients. You will thus get plenty of experience in how a complex organisation is managed. You will attend management meetings and be exposed to our specialist ophthalmology (run by Chris Playfair) and paediatric clinics. Our 15 partners and innumerable staff work as a true team and managed to achieve 100% of the government’s QOF targets.

Special Interests within the practice

The practice pioneered GP audiology, echocardiography and ophthalmology services since 1993. We now run practice based commissioning services in ophthalmology and paediatrics. Each partner has a special area of interest.
