Trainers

Dr Andrew Riddoch has been a GP trainer since 2001. G.P.Rs are welcomed to the Practice. We ensure that they are fully trained & supported in their work throughout their whole year. Dr Riddoch is a Clinical Assistant in Rheumatology, he has a range of management responsibilities relating to our new Premise. Outside he enjoys family life, tennis, sailing & gardening.

Dr Simon Phillips has been involved in training since 2007, initially with FY2 doctors and as a clinical supervisor for the Urgent Care Service. An old Cornwall Road GP registrar himself, he decided to complete the cycle by becoming a trainer in 2010 and continue the practice's strong teaching ethos. Within medicine, he has interests in Ophthalmology, ENT, Diabetes, Acupuncture and leads QoF and research activity at the practice. He has 3 children and enjoys cycling, hiking, carpentry and making sweet music on the drums (albeit loudly!).

About the Practice

A long established Dorchester training practice recently moved to superb (shared) purpose- built premises on the Western edge of the town. We have worked hard to retain the small and personal practice feel for our 6000 patients while striving to deliver excellent care informed by best evidence. There is a strong learning ethos in the practice and we welcome GP registrars, F2 doctors and medical students as well as those from other disciplines. Our Practice Professional development meetings often include over 20 people from our extended team.

Special Interests within the practice

Family Medicine, Palliative care, Medical Homeopathy, Primary Care Research & Development, GUM, Acupuncture, and Rheumatology.
